I just wanted to say a big thank you for all those who have sent in well wishes for Jace. He is doing great, or as great as a full leg cast can keep you. My Mom and Dad have been extremely helpful taking Jace for walks, playing with him and keeping him occupied while I am tending to other necessities. This Thursday Jace goes in for another assessment on his progress and also to transition(hopefully) to a straight-leg cast. He will be able to walk on this one (like he doesn't try to do that already) so I think he will like that freedom. Your prayers have been wonderfully helpful, I know that they have kept Jace at peace during this very difficult time for him.
Thank You ALL!

Jensen Jace and it's a Crazy Place!
I cannot believe that Jensen's old enough to be this old. He celebrated his 18th birthday on the 30th of June. Crazy huh? I remember being 18, boy things have changed. I had to go to work, I got a pretty opal ring from my parents. Jensen wanted music from itunes and vegged all day. (It's still summer vacation to him). I told him that once he graduated summer vacations went away too, but it is hard to find a job. Happy Birthday Big Guy!!
I am going to try and explain what happened to Jace and use some visual aids to help. Saturday evening around 8 o'clock Jason took Jace outside because he had been stuck in the house all day. Jason wanted to give Jace a try on the electric scooter that we have. (It used to belong to the "Big's" but now we thought that the "little's" would like to have them.) Anywho--Jace got on the thing and started to go-slow at first-while Jason was running along side him. All of the sudden Jace took off and kept going down our street laughing the whole way. Jason was yelling to him to slow down or stop, but soon realized that Jace wasn't going to do either.
Jace was headed straight for this new construction. If you noticed there were plenty of dangerous places that would've increased the severity of injury.
To the left of where Jace landed are broken up stones and concrete.
Jace was taken to the E.R. and it was discovered that he had fractured his femur and then dislocated it from the knee joint. It was determined that Jace be transported to the Children's Hospital for surgery.
The Dr. that performed the operation said that everything went back together. Jason saw both sets of x-rays and seemed very pleased with how Jace's leg looked after everything was done. Jace needed two screws to put everything back. They are permanent, so Jace won't need to have surgery again to remove them. (The Doctor also casted Jace's turtle since it was with him in the O.R.)
Jace will be in this bent leg cast for at least 4 weeks and he is not to bear weight during this time. After that he will be placed in a straight leg cast for we hope for 2 more weeks at that's all. We have been given a wheelchair for Jace to use and also a walker to keep his right leg strong. Jason set up this cot right in front of the t.v. so he can keep his leg elevated. Jace needs to keep his leg elevated for one more day, and then he can sit up and play on the floor. If you notice from the picture above it is rather hard to keep him down. Good news is he doesn't seem to be in pain anymore. The dark green bandages are to cushion Jace's other leg from the spacers, it looks kind of "Dr. Susses" .
We certainly appreciate everyones prayers and well wishes..Jace has some pretty awesome gardian angels.
